Namadingo has done a Reggae Mash up medley with the veteran and legendary Giddes Chalamanda popularly known as Agide.
One of the songs played in the medley is Buffalo Soldier.
Here is the story of the Song Buffalo Soldier which a Gide strongly claims Bob Marley copyrighted it from him.
Baffalo Soldier
Baffalo to America
When I was a young boy
I wished to go in America
If i had much money
I go to see in America..
To pass the boundary of Indiana
To go to there in America.....
Those are the Original lyrics of Giddes Chalamanda's version of 'Buffalo Soldier' before Bob Marley 'copied' the song and realised his Baffalo Soldier in 1978..
Giddess claims that his Buffalo Soldier was released in the 1960s way before Bob Marley's which was recorded in 1978.
While Giddes' Buffalo Soldier song talks about about the wishes of a young man from a remote African village to at least visit USA once in his lifetime..
Bob Marley's version of Buffalo Soldier refered to the black U.S. cavalry regiments, known as "Buffalo Soldiers", that fought in the Indian Wars after 1866.
Marley linked their fight to a fight for survival, and recasts it as a symbol of black resistance.
Ironically both Bufallo Soldiers by Chalamanda and Bob Marley have the same tune.
Giddes Chalamanda's 50 year old dream to visit USA were fulfilled in 2016 when Edgar ndi Davis acoustic duo arranged the US trip for Giddes where he held some music concerts
